ELEMENTARY GOLF SCHOOL PROMISES TO:
Provide a balance between having fun and learning.
Golf is a technical game which requires steady practice and determination to succeed. Youngsters will be given the opportunity to experiment with playing a variety of different shots, as most children do not have the attention span, to spend hours on the range fine tuning their swing. Our coaches are supportive and will offer as much encouragement as possible during the difficult early phases of learning the game. Our program teaches basic fundamentals, with plenty of variation for practicing and playing. We will not only teach the shots, but also the etiquette, behavior and finer points of the rules of the game. Our golf program will supply the child with knowledge on how to fill in a scorecard correctly and we will explain which clothes and behavior are suitable for the course and the clubhouse. Our instructors will be able to adjust the level of complexity to each child’s individual level of progress. Our coaches know how to motivate the novice and are experts in building confidence! Our unique PGA recognized program is designed to bring golf and its inherent values directly to Preschool, Elementary, and Middle School students through existing After School Programs (ASP) and Parks & Recreation Departments. The curriculum, developed by PGA Professionals, parents and teachers, incorporates valuable character building skills, a low student-teacher ratio; co-ed, age, and ability appropriate instruction; all in a safe and fun learning environment. A recent study showed that 85% of 1,100 kids who were introduced to golf had a desire to continue to play the sport. The same study showed that less than 15% of those youngsters had an opportunity to participate in organized play. Elementary Golf School would like to change that statistic. Elementary Golf School provides that opportunity in a four-week session that runs multiple times throughout the school year and offers camps during the summer months. It is designed to allow for indoor and/or outdoor instruction with all the necessary equipment provided. While the goal is to introduce new kids to the game of golf, the sessions are progressive in nature and provide options for kids of all skill levels. Kids will participate in skills testing that will help the instructors assess the need for advancement and provide feedback for the parents. Our program and instructors are of the highest quality. Our teaching professionals are fully trained, insured, and background checked for our students’ safety. Student safety and customer service are our top priorities. Elementary Golf School supports our local schools. Our company policy is to donate 5% of all course fees directly back to the school through the PTA/PTSA/ASP programs.
Does Elementary Golf School provide equipment?---Yes, EGS provides all the equipment your child will need in class. We custom fit each child with golf clubs on the first day of class to ensure they are using the proper equipment.

Can my child bring their own golf clubs?---The school districts ask that students do not bring golf clubs to school for use in our classes. If you would like your child’s instructor to evaluate your child’s clubs, a parent may bring them after school hours.
Is your equipment/class safe?---Your child’s safety is our number one priority; however, there is always risk of injury with any type of sports program. Safety rules are the first thing addressed with students in the very first class, and are emphasized in each following lesson. We maintain a low student teacher ratio so your child is under constant supervision. We use Almost Golf Balls in all of our classes – they act just like real golf balls but are soft in case of impact. In addition our staff are fully trained, insured, and knowledgeable in basic first aid and CPR techniques, with the additional support of school/park staff in case of emergencies.
Can parents attend classes?---Yes, we welcome parents at all of our classes. Your support and encouragement is essential for your child’s growth and continued interest in the game.
How can parents help encourage our children?-- Ask them what they learned in golf class. Elementary Golf School will send an email each week with the lessons covered in class. Use this to engage your child in conversation, they will love to tell you what they are learning in class. 2. Watch golf on TV. Children imitate what they see and are largely visual learners so watching golf on television helps to reinforce the skills and values learned in class. 3. Get out there and play some golf. Golf is a great game for the entire family to play together. The driving range and miniature golf courses are great for kids of all ages.
Do you offer programs for advanced students?
Yes, our program consists of three levels and is progressive in nature. As a student graduates, the next level builds on the skills and lessons of the previous class. Level 1 - Level 2 - Level 3
We also have private lessons available for students who have completed all three levels or those who just can’t get enough golf (see below)!
My child’s school does not offer an after school Golf Program. Can I sign up at another school?
Yes, if your child's school does not offer an after school golf class, you can either request that EGS offer classes at your school. or sign up for another school's golf program.
Do you offer private lessons?
Yes, private and semi-private lessons are available through our mobile golf academy. For pricing and details, email eric@elementarygolfschool.com.

1. The Teachings of the Game
We all want our kids to develop into responsible adults. The game of golf has at its core a standard of behavior that lends itself to positive development. Personal skills such as honesty, integrity, courtesy and respect are all present in golf, regardless of the level of competition. Golf teaches kids to use good judgment and be responsible for their actions. It also encourages the highest level of sportsmanship. What other sport allows you to call a penalty on yourself with examples of this very thing being demonstrated on the biggest stages of the game?
2. College Scholarships
In addition to the scholarships that colleges and universities offer directly to the accomplished golfers coming out of high school, there are numerous avenues to receive monetary support that can be used to help with the cost of higher education. Equipment manufacturers, State golf associations, junior golf organizations, and philanthropists who themselves benefited from the game, are all on the list of sources that offer anything from $500 for books to a full-ride scholarship to the student’s school of choice. In many cases, skill level is not a determining factor for receiving an award: involvement in the game, good grades, community service, and employment at a golf facility can all be reasons for becoming a scholarship winner. It’s free money, so take advantage!
3. Family time
When was the last time you played a game of tackle football with your son or field hockey with your daughter? Golf is a game that families can learn and play together. And because of the handicap system that was created to determine a golfer’s playing ability and potential, moms and dads can actually compete with their children even if they play from different tee boxes or at significantly different skill levels. Get the grandparents involved, and you have a game that everyone can enjoy together as a family for years and the years to come.
. 4. Business contacts
Everyone knows how demanding the business world can be. It is no secret that some of the biggest deals have been conducted on the golf course. Imagine (or maybe you don’t have to) what it would be like as a non-golfer working in an office full of golfers. When the time comes for networking and building the relationships that lead to promotions and access to the best clients, you don’t want your child to be the one stuck back at the office shuffling papers around a desk. Impress just one client or boss with a skillful golf game or simply a high level of professionalism and conduct as it relates to the game, and your child may have just “punched a ticket” for future success in the industry.
5. Exercise and Fitness
It is estimated that 20 to 30 percent of children and adolescents in the U.S. are overweight. The physical and emotional issues that can result from childhood obesity are as staggering as the number itself. Twenty years ago, golf and fitness were rarely uttered in the same sentence, but thanks to a new generation of golf professionals, strength, conditioning and nutrition are a significant part of golf instructional programs. Would you rather have your son or daughter immersed in the latest video game or walking nine holes with the high school golf team? As schools are reducing the time spent on physical fitness, it is crucial that kids avoid becoming couch potatoes when they are not in school. Golf is a great low-impact way to develop the cardio activity, core stability, balance and focus that is necessary to function effectively from day-to-day and reduce the risk of health concerns.
